Maria Larrain

MSc, BOst, DPO, PgC ACE (clin.ed.) Osteopath

Maria Larrain is the Clinical Director at Butterfield Osteopathy. She graduated in 2009 and has a strong commitment to the welfare of parents and their newborns. Currently, she is undertaking her doctoral research at University College London (UCL) where she is exploring the maternal experience of infant feeding and tongue-tie.

Maria is an experienced Paediatric Osteopath, having qualified from the Osteopathic Centre for Children. She has taught paediatrics and cranial osteopathy at both postgraduate and undergraduate levels. She has a particular interest in biodynamic cranial osteopathy, infant feeding issues, mental health, and stress-related musculoskeletal pain.

Although Maria treats people of all ages, she has a special interest in the osteopathic care of babies, children, and women who have pain and issues related to pregnancy and childbirth. In her treatment approach, she incorporates mindfulness, pilates-based exercises, and breathwork to help people along their healing journeys. Additionally, Maria offers her services in her mother tongue, Spanish and Danish. Due to her ongoing research, her clinic days on Monday PM and Wednesday AM are limited, so booking in advance is desirable.
